David Ammer is Principal Trumpet of the Michigan Opera Theatre Orchestra, performing on a regular basis at the historic Detroit Opera House. He also appears frequently with the Detroit, Flint, and Toledo Symphony Orchestras, and with other Detroit-area chamber ensembles, including Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings and Today's Brass Quintet. He has been a featured soloist with the Ann Arbor and Flint Symphony Orchestras, and has appeared alongside the Canadian Brass with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra. David also performed with the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, and with the brass section of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra previous to a Detroit Tigers game. Originally from Massachusetts, David played with the Boston Lyric Opera Orchestra, and served on the faculty of the University of Massachusetts at Boston before moving to Michigan in 1998. David received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Swarthmore College, and his Master of Music degree from Yale University. His teachers include Raymond Mase and Allan Dean.
